HOP's Education Programs

The Hungry Owl Project is now doing school presentations in partnership with Marin Art & Garden Center (MAGC) in Ross, on selected dates in 2008. Schools are invited to arrange a field trip to participate in a presentation on "Beneficial Predators" featuring live birds of prey.

Please contact Alex Godbe at 415-454-4587
to arrange a presentation.

When possible our education ambassador, Wookie the Barn Owl will be part of the presentation. The Hungry Owl Project and WildCare have a permit from the California Department of Fish and Game to have, and present, this beautiful owl that cannot be released to the wild. Wookie was found as a baby owl and, instead of being turned over to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility, was kept as a family pet. He is now an education ambassador for the Hungry Owl Project and WildCare. Other birds of prey from WildCare may also be part of selected presentations.

It is illegal to keep native wildlife as pets. Wild things belong in the wild, not in a cage.
